Criadora de Moda Moçambicana, a minha vida não foi nem é apenas sobre moda. Nascida num País em que – até bem pouco tempo – não existia educação de Moda, não existe uma indústria de moda ou um entendimento real do que é Moda como um “trabalho de verdade”, fez com que o caminho para aprender, encontrar educação e seguir o sonho, fosse um eterno desafio.

Turismo foi a segunda opção disponível, e estudei durante três anos, enquanto simultaneamente trabalhava num Tour Operador (Agência de viagem), o que quase me levou ao limite da exaustão física e psicológica. Em 2010, decidi dar uma chance ao meu sonho, aprender a costurar e criar uma colecção de moda com a ajuda indispensável do famoso criador de moda Taibo Bacar. A minha primeira participação no Mozambique Fashion Week (MFW) foi como young designer nesse mesmo ano.

Em 2011, após três anos trabalhando em turismo, decidi pedir demissão e dar mais uma chance – verdadeira – ao meu sonho de ser fashion designer. Após minha segunda participação no MFW, ganhei uma bolsa de estudos para a prestigiosa Academia Elizabeth Galloway Academy of Fashion Design em Stellenbosch, África do Sul, onde estudei durante 3 anos e me formei como Designer de Moda, em Dezembro de 2014.

Hoje cinco anos depois, trabalho na indústria bancária, enquanto construo a minha vida de acordo com os meus termos. O sonho de recomeçar, não morreu, e espero poder voltar em breve ao mundo da Moda.

Entretanto, além da moda, tenho outras paixões como a fotografia, viagens, música, e poesia, nos tempos livres. Neste blog pretendo sempre focar maioritariamente na moda, porém os meus outros hobbies também farão parte do mesmo.

Mozambican born fashion designer, Mingas' life was not always about fashion. Being from a country where there is no fashion education, a fashion industry or a real understanding of Fashion as a "real job", made the path towards learning the craft, finding education and following the dream a challenge.

Tourism was her second choice in higher education, and she did so for three years, while simultaneously working in a Tour Operator business which drove her almost to the brink of exhaustion. In 2010, she decided to give her love for fashion a go, and learn to sew and create a fashion collection under a famous local designer's guidance. Her first participation in Mozambique Fashion Week, as a young designer, occurred then. In 2011, after three years of hard work, she quit her job and decided to give her love of fashion a real try, and invest more time, research and money into creating something noteworthy. This latest effort brought a scholarship offering to study at the prestigious Elizabeth Galloway Academy of Fashion Design in Stellenbosch, South Africa, for a three-year period which ended in December 2014.

She is now working in the banking industry, while building a life in her own terms, and finding her passions again.

I do have other passions, such as amateur photography, travelling, music and poetry, all in my free time. In this blog I intend to focus primarily in fashion, but my other hobbies might be featured every now and then.
