Eliana Murargy & Taibo Bacar to showcase at Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Africa!

So, Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Africa will have its inaugural season now from the 23 to the 28th of October in Johannesburg, followed by the AFI Fashion Awards on the 28th of October. And I couldn't be more thrilled to have the confirmation, now that the Final Designers list came out, that Mozambique will be represented by two of the best designers we have, and both have been mentioned in this blog: Taibo Bacar with his namesake brand and Eliana Murargy with her brand MURADE. For Taibo's feature on this blog click here and for Eliana's click here.

Eliana has been working in the construction of her brand for a few years now, and is making a name for herself in Brazil, where she studied Fashion and started her widely acclaimed brand, in Mozambique, and now going to show in the Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Africa for the first time.
Taibo has made a name for himself in Mozambique and in Africa, being the go-to designer in Mozambique and in Africa for high-fashion, with an African twist. This is one more milestone in his long portfolio of glamorous collections that he has already presented in many occasions.
I can, knowingly, say that we can expect the best from both of these excellent designers.

Excerpt from the Shadders Blog:
With more than 20 shows over four days, Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Africa will present designers from South Africa, Cote D’Ivoire, Morocco, Mozambique, Cameroon, Rwanda, Angola, DRC, Trinidad, New York, Nigeria and Ghana – all of whom have been chosen for their standards of global relevance and commercial viability along with a distinctive design that exemplifies African creativity.
Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Africa is the authentic contemporary African Fashion gathering, bringing together and honouring designers from the four corners of the continent and the African diaspora.  This global platform for the African fashion aesthetic showcases the global relevance and commercial viability of our industry along with innovation and distinctive design,” says AFI Executive Chairperson Dr. Precious Moloi-Motsepe.

I would like to congratulate both of them for it, and wish them the best of luck, I know for a fact that they will bring elegance, sophistication, class and all with the Mozambican trademark.
Unfortunately I will not be there this time, but I will be here to post the pictures for the world to see.
